Ce document présente l'installation de Linux/Debian sur un Fujitsu Lifebook S7020 Supreme (configuration personnalisée).

Globalement ce portable fonctionne très bien, malgré quelques problèmes sur les périphériques multimédia. Néanmoins, il nécessite l'utilisation d'un noyau récent principalement pour permettre la gestion du disque SATA.
Cependant, vu son intégration et ses performances il chauffe pas mal, ce qui malgré tout n'altère pas son autonomie. Celle-ci, en utilisation normale avec un environnement de développement gourmand (Eclipse, serveur d'application, SGBD etc) est d'environ 3 heures avec la batterie principale et de 5h30 avec deux batteries.
Enfin, ses performances globales en font un outil de travail très agréable pouvant remplacer plus que largement un PC de bureau.

Installation
La distribution installée est la Debian unstable. Nous avons booté un noyeau 2.6.12 pour l'installation. Cette documentation n'est pas un manuel d'installation de Debian, elle complète cette dernière par les points liés aux caractéristiques du Fujitsu s7020.

1. Installation de base

 Dans un premier temps il faut désactiver le support AHCI dans le BIOS, en effet le driver AHCI n'est pas disponible dans le noyau du CD.
Le driver réseau pour la carte Ethernet est le Broadcom TiGon 3. Le reste de l'installation se fait sans autre contrainte.

2. Configuration du Noyau

 La version du noyau utilisée est la 2.6.12.5.
Le patch de T Long Nuguen pour le pci express a été appliqué.
Enfin notre configuration du noyau est la suivante, à laquelle s'ajoutent les modules ieee80211 et ipw2200.

3. X.org

 La configuration xorg.conf utilise les softs 855resolution et Synaptics.
855resolution permet de modifier les modes standards du bios de la carte video afin de permettre d'accéder au mode 1400x1050. Le mode 5c a été modifié.
Synaptics, n'est pas nécessaire. Cependant il permet de configurer le touchpad et devient indispensable si l'on veut supprimer le " Touch clic".

4. ACPI / Suspend to RAM

 Le driver AHCI fait planter le suspend to RAM, c'est pourquoi nous laissons le support AHCI désactivé dans le BIOS et que nous utilisons le driver PIIX.
Attention, un bug de l'ACPI génère deux évènements lors d'une pression sur le bouton on/off, il faut donc commenter la ligne d'appel au shutdown dans le fichier /etc/acpi/powerbutton.sh. Un script perso pour gérer le suspend to RAM.

5. Configuration diverses

 Le driver son actuel du noyau ne fonctionne pas parfaitement. Principalement, la prise casque ne fonctionne pas et il y a de temps à autre des craquements lors de la lecture (ceux-ci sont nettement plus importants lorque l'on utilise l'emulation OSS, moins avec les applications ALSA).
Les hotkeys du son ne fonctionnent pas, et celles "1" à "Enter" génèrent des évenements ACPI, non pris en charge par défaut.
